MOSCOW, September 24 (RIA Novosti) - Moscow authorities have pledged to plant greenery around the capital’s Garden Ring Road and central Tverskaya Street once the financial crisis has ended, Moscow’s chief architect Alexander Kuzmin said.
“We will return to the question of planting greening on Tverskaya Street and the Garden Ring after the crisis. We could, for instance, use the example of the landscaping of Paris,” Kuzmin said.
According to Kuzmin, special kinds of plants were used in Paris.
Landscape gardening on Moscow’s main street, Tverskaya, came to a halt in the mid-1990s. Since the 1950-60s Moscow’s environment has altered greatly and many trees will not grow in the center.
