Zenit St. Petersburg jumped from fifth to third place in the Russian Premier League with a 2-0 home win over CSKA Moscow on Saturday.

MOSCOW, September 26 (RIA Novosti) -Zenit St. Petersburg jumped from fifth to third place in the Russian Premier League  with a 2-0 home win over CSKA Moscow on Saturday.

Former Chelsea forward Mateja Kezman gave Zenit the lead in added-on time at the end of the first half from the penalty spot and Vladimir Bystrov doubled the scoreline in the 86th minute. Bystrov's goal was his fourth in as many games since rejoining his hometown club from Spartak Moscow.

The defeat was the first domestic loss for CSKA coach Juande Ramos, who started life in Moscow with two successive wins. However, CSKA under Ramos fell to a 3-1 away defeat to German champions VfL Wolfsburg in the club's Champions League opener on September 15.

Zenit and second-placed Spartak Moscow are now seven points behind leaders Rubin Kazan, who crashed to a 2-1 home defeat to Amkar on Friday. Zenit have inferior goal difference to the Muscovites and have played one game more. Spartak have also played one match less than Rubin, and a home victory over Tom Tomsk on Sunday will see them move to within four points of last year's champions.
