MOSCOW, October 15 (RIA Novosti) -- Russian steelmaker Evraz Group said its production fell 13.2% in the third quarter of 2009 year-on-year to 4.2 million tons.
It said rolled steel output declined 14.4% to 3.8 million tons, but iron ore concentrate production in the reporting period was up 51.4% to 1.6 million tons.
The company has three steelmaking subsidiaries in Siberia. Its presence in North America includes Evraz Inc. NA, uniting Oregon Steel Mills, Claymont Steel, and Ipsco's Canadian plate and pipe business.
Evraz Group also controls the Dnepropetrovsk Iron and Steel Works in Ukraine, Evraz Palini e Bertoli in Italy, Evraz Vitkovice Steel in the Czech Republic, and Highveld Steel and Vanadium Corporation in South Africa.
