ROSTOV-ON-DON, October 16 (RIA Novosti) - Four militants, including one woman, were killed during a special operation in the Russian North Caucasus republic of Ingushetia on Friday, police said.
"At about 17:30 Moscow time, a special operation ended in the Ordzhonikidzevskaya village, during which law enforcement officers killed four militants including a woman," a spokesman told RIA Novosti.
Two assault rifles, a pistol, a grenade launcher and ammunition were discovered at the site. An investigation is underway.
The counterterrorist operation started in the Sunzha District of Ingushetia, near the border with Chechnya, on Thursday, where at least two Russian servicemen and six militants were killed during another operation earlier in the week.
Russia's North Caucasus republics, in particular Chechnya, Dagestan and Ingushetia, have seen an upsurge of militant violence this year, with frequent attacks on police and officials.
