MOSCOW, October 25 (RIA Novosti) - Italy's Francesca Schiavone won the Kremlin Cup for her second career title after defeating Olga Govortsova from Belarus 6-3, 6-0 in Sunday's women's singles final.
The 29-year-old tennis player, ranked 24th in the world, won in one hour and 17 minutes to clinch the title. Schiavone previously won only one WTA tournament final at Bad Gastein in 2007.
Schiavone received a silver trophy and a prize of over $150,000, while runner-up Govortsova, who currently holds the 67th place in WTA rankings, got almost $84,000 in prize money.
In the men's final later on Sunday, Russia's Mikhail Youzhny will face Serbian Janko Tipsarevic.
