Russian Beauty 2009 pageant

Yevgenia Lapova from Novosibirsk won the Krasa Rossii (Russian Beauty) 2009 beauty pageant.

Yevgenia Lapova, 23, graduated from the acting faculty of the Russian State Institute of Cinematography cum laude. In 2002, Lapova won the Russian national junior beauty pageant.

The Russian Beauty 2009 admits she didn’t have to make any great sacrifices, such as dieting. “Of course I kept to a diet, but I don’t think a Russian Beauty has to be skinny,” said Lapova.

The Russian Beauty 2009 admits the victory was not easy to achieve. In addition to the crown, Lapova received a Nissan car.

According to Lapova, she was “generally on good terms” with the other participants, and didn’t feel a fierce competitive atmosphere.

Despite concentrating on her career, Lapova does not want to abandon her personal life. “I’d like to marry the man I’m in love with and have many of children,” Lapova confessed. She will celebrate her victory with her family in Novosibirsk. The 15th Russian Beauty pageant included 69 young women from all over Russia.

During the contest, the participants took to the stage five times, including to parade in bikinis…

… and in mini-skirts.

During the first stage call, entitled Formula 1, some of the finalists were unable to get past the embarrassment. For example, Svetlana Vaskina from Mordovia lost a shoe during the fashion parade, Sofia Lapitskaya from Kemerovo stumbled and fell near the curtain, and Lyudmila Vasilyanskaya from Chukotka lost the ribbon she had on her shoulder.
