The documentary is a retrospective of the King of Pop’s career, featuring interview fragments as well as recollections of his family, friends and colleagues.
The film is based on hours-long rehearsal and backstage footage from the preparations for the series of shows in London that were canceled due to Jackson’s death.
The documentary featuring Michael Jackson’s last video footage will have a limited two-week run in 99 countries, which magnified the ticket frenzy. In Britain, Germany, France, Japan and Thailand, tickets to the premiere were sold out in the first day of sales, which began a month ago.
The global box office revenues are expected to hit $100 million in the first five days. Stills from the film courtesy Sony Pictures Releasing CIS.
