Irina Getmanova, 19, a student at the Novosibirsk Siberian State Academy of Geodesy, won the Miss Siberia 2009 beauty pageant.
The competition finals took place on October 30 at the Railwaymen Culture Center in Novosibirsk.
Russia’s most beautiful young woman Yevgenina Lapova (photo), winner of Russian Beauty 2009 on October 24, presented the Beauty Crown to Irina Getmanova.
“This is a springboard to large-scale competitions like Miss Russia and Russian Beauty,” Irina told journalists.

Earlier this year, Irina won the Novosibirsk University Queen 2009 contest, which qualified her to compete for the title of Siberia’s most beautiful girl.
The new Miss Siberia admitted she was hoping to win the competition. “Of course, every girl thought she would win; so did I,” she said.

Answering journalists’ questions, Miss Siberia 2009 said that her victory was one of the most important events in her life, but that she would not be satisfied with what she has achieved to this point.
In the finals, the beauty pageant jury, which included representatives of some renowned foreign model agencies, chose Irina from 42 girls. Natalya Grel, director of the Novosibirsk model school Elite Stars and one of the pageant organizers, told RIA Novosti that her school had been selecting candidates from among 2,000 young girls for the past two years. The Miss Siberia beauty pageant took place in Novosibirsk for the 5th time.
