SINGAPORE, November 14 (RIA Novosti) - Vietnamese President Nguyen Minh Triet held a one-on-one meeting with his Russian counterpart, Dmitry Medvedev, on the sidelines of an Asia-Pacific summit on Saturday.

Medvedev has also met with Chinese President Hu Jintao in Singapore, where the leaders of 21 countries are currently attending the annual Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum summit.

"I am very glad that our cooperation is developing on a trusting basis," the Vietnamese leader said.

"We are also glad that Russia, which is a major friend and strategic partner of Vietnam, has become stronger in all areas over the past few years."

Medvedev called the meeting "very productive", and noted that ties between the countries are now developing in all areas, including humanitarian projects.
