Yekaterinburg Zoo's new residents move in

The baboons arrived to Yekaterinburg from a zoo in Dresden.

The three-year-old male is called Liin, and his four-year-old female friend is Kumani.

The Weeper Capuchin monkeys came as a family: two adults and one infant. These South American monkeys were named for the noise they make, which sounds like crying children.

The black jaguar: new to the neighborhood in Yekaterinburg Zoo.

Argon, a black jaguar, now lives next door to Sara, another jaguar, on the second floor of the hot climate predator complex.

Argon is still too little young to start relations with the older big cat next door, so the animals sniff each other through gaps in the wall.

The bird population has also grown. The red-billed toucans have moved into the exotic bird pavilion, near the black-billed toucan, and the Toco toucan.

This is Yekaterinburg Zoo’s first red-billed toucan.
