Passers-by will be offered free hugs in downtown Moscow as part of the "Let's hug!" flash mob, the event's organizers said on Friday.
About 100-150 people, waving "Free Hugs" and "Let's hug" placards will gather at downtown Moscow's Pushkin Square at 16:00 [13:00 GMT].
"The aim of this campaign is to make lonely people feel better and to help single people find a partner," the organizers said.
The Free Hugs Campaign was started in 2004 by Australian Juan Mann, and has since gained worldwide popularity. The International Free Hugs Day is celebrated on the first Saturday of July.
