Three crew members died and four others were injured after a cargo plane crashed at east China's Shanghai Pudong international airport on Saturday, Xinhua news agency said.
The SMJ 324 cargo plane registered in Zimbabwe caught fire when taking off. The blaze occurred at 08:12 a.m. local time [Friday Midnight GMT]. There were seven foreign staff on board the plane bound for the Kyrgyz capital of Bishkek, Xinhua said.
All the seven foreign crew members were rushed to a hospital in Pudong, where three of them died and one was in a critical condition as of 11:00 a.m. local time [03:00 GMT].
The accident delayed over 30 international flights, with some 4,000 passengers stranded in planes or airport lounges, Xinhua quoted Shanghai airport officials as saying.
