At least 73 people died when a boat sank on a lake in the Democratic Republic of Congo, regional media reports said on Saturday.
A logging vessel went down with over 300 people on board in west Congo's Lake Mai Ndombe. The boat did not have permission to act as a passenger vessel.
The incident happened on Wednesday in the Bandundu province, north-east of the capital Kinshasa, but reports have only just emerged.
Details are still unclear, but local reports say the death toll may rise as a number of people are listed as missing.
