Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin warned on Thursday against any ill wishing, including economic, to the U.S. or any other country.
During his annual question-and-answer session with the Russians, Putin was asked if Russia would help the U.S. in case of a financial collapse. The Russian premier said that a U.S. economic collapse would have a negative impact both on the Russian and the global economies.
"We have strong ties with this country; it is one of our major economic partners. The global economy is tied very closely to the U.S. economy," Putin said.
He added that wishing other countries ill was pointless.
"A world of wellbeing is a much better place to live in than the world of disasters," Putin said.
