Police are searching for three robbers who stole 9 million rubles ($310,000) from a foreign exchange office in Moscow, police said on Sunday.

The three men broke into the foreign exchange office on Sunday morning and, threatening the cashier with a knife, stole foreign exchange equivalent to 9 million rubles from the vault, the police said.

The cashier told the police that two men were of Caucasian and one of Slavic appearance.

Investigative measures are under way to find the robbers. The police are also studying video cameras installed in the area, the police said.

Last month, two unidentified men entered a private firm's showroom in northern Moscow, locked up the security guard in a backroom and stole 50 mink coats worth 1.5 million rubles ($52,000).
