Three gunmen were killed on Wednesday in a shootout with police in Russia's North Caucasus republic of Karachai-Circassia, a local police spokesman said.
He said the militants were involved in the killing of a police officer on November 10.
They refused to surrender when surrounded by police, and opened fire. One police officer was injured in the shootout.
