The Estonian parliament extended on Wednesday the mandate for the country's peacekeeping contingent in Afghanistan until the end of 2010.
Estonian soldiers have been serving in Afghanistan as part of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) since 2003.
In line with parliament's decision, up to 170 Estonian troops will be providing support to units of the British 19th Infantry Brigade in the Helmand Province of southern Afghanistan.
Six Estonian troops have died and 30 have been injured in Afghanistan since the start of NATO operations in the country in 2001.
