A Mexican border guard. According to the 2006 law signed by then-President George W. Bush, the reinforced fortifications built along certain sections of the U.S.-Mexican border will stretch approximately 1,100 km. The “fence” will cover one third of the 3,360 kilometer U.S.-Mexican border.
