Russian President Dmitry Medvedev will meet in Moscow with Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on December 15, the Kremlin announced on Saturday.
Russia plans to step up cooperation with Vietnam in oil and gas production, as well as arms sales.
Earlier this week, Russian energy giant Gazprom announced plans to invest 9.43 billion rubles ($319 million) in oil and gas offshore development in Vietnam in 2010, under PSA projects.
The Vedomosti business daily recently reported that the countries are close to signing deals on the purchase of six Russian Kilo class diesel-electric submarines and 12 Su-30MK2 Flanker-C multirole fighters.
