At least five people died and two were injured in a head-on collision between two cars on a highway 500 km (310 miles) northwest of Argentine capital Buenos Aires, the C5N TV channel reported.
"The accident occurred on the 12th kilometer of the national highway 19. The Peugeot-206 and Ford Ka cars collided at a high speed. Five people died, and two children aged 7 and 11 were hospitalized," a police spokesman said.
An investigation is underway.
Argentina has a population of 40 million and more than 7 million registered vehicles. Over 5,000 people have died on the country's roads since the start of the year.
