At least 23 people were wounded when a suicide bomber rammed a car laden with explosives into a traffic police station in Russia's North Caucasus republic of Ingushetia, local investigators said on Thursday.
A spokesperson for the local investigation committee said that 10 civilians, including three children, 10 servicemen and three policemen were wounded in the blast. However, only the suicide bomber died.
"According to preliminary information, the force of the explosion was estimated at 40-45 kg of TNT equivalent," the spokesperson said.
Russia's mainly Muslim North Caucasus republics have been swept by an upsurge of violence in recent months. Hundreds of people have been killed in militant attacks and skirmishes between security forces and gunmen.
