Juventus have denied that they are interested in appointing Russian national team coach Guus Hiddink as club manager.

Juventus have denied that they are interested in appointing Russian national team coach Guus Hiddink as club manager.

Hiddink's agent Cees Van Nieuwenhuizen was quoted earlier in the week by British media as saying that the Italian giants wanted the Dutchman to take over from Ciro Ferrara after a series of bad results.

"Juventus denies reports coming from England of a possible interest for Guus Hiddink.," the statement said."The club has never considered any other coach because Ciro Ferrara has our full backing and is at the centre of our sporting project."

Hiddink's contract with Russia expires after the 2010 World Cup, which Russia failed to qualify for.

But Van Nieuwenhuizen was quoted earlier on Friday as saying that Hiddink was likely to accept an offer by the Russian FA to sign another two year contract, which would take him up to Euro 2012, to be joint hosted by Poland and Ukraine.
