Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will visit Cairo on December 20-21 to discuss the Arab-Israeli conflict resolution and bilateral issues with his Egyptian counterpart, Ahmed Aboul Gheit.
The two ministers will hold the fifth round of the Russian-Egyptian strategic dialogue talks and sign a plan of bilateral consultations for 2010, the Russian foreign ministry's spokesman told RIA Novosti.
Lavrov will also meet with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and with League of Arab States Secretary General Amr Moussa, Andrei Nesterenko said.
Lavrov and Amr Moussa will sign a memorandum on the establishment of Russian and Arab cooperation forum.
Despite the global financial crisis, Russian-Egyptian trade hit $2 billion in 2008 and is expected to grow in 2009. The number of Russian tourists who visited Egypt in 2008 was 1.8 million and may reach 2 million by the end of this year.
