World's largest 20-meter long ambulance car capable of carrying up to 100 patients has started to operate in Dubai, the Al Bayan newspaper said.
The car worth more than $1.6 million was ordered by the emirate's health authorities in Germany, the paper said. The ambulance is planned to be used in emergency cases, when a large number of people would need to be provided with urgent medical assistance simultaneously. It is capable of carrying up to 100 patients in a light condition and more than 40 in a heavy condition.
The ambulance is included in the Guinness Book as the world's largest mobile medical center, the Al Bayan said. It has an intensive care, a surgery, a delivery and an X-ray units inside, with the most modern medical equipment. The car is also equipped with television and satellite connection systems.
