Israel Defense Forces (IDF) soldiers killed three Palestinians in the West Bank and another three in the Gaza Strip early on Saturday, Israel's Haaretz reported.
According to the Israeli online edition, Israeli authorities said the three Palestinians, shot in the West Bank's city of Nablus, were from a militia network believed to have been involved in Thursday's attack in the area that left a rabbi killed.
An IDF spokesperson said the other three Palestinians were killed in an air strike and ground fire on suspicion they were trying to infiltrate from Gaza, Haaretz said.
Those killed in the Gaza strike could have been civilians collecting scrap metal in an industrial zone near the Israeli border, according to a Hamas source.
The attacks set back efforts, including through international mediation, to find a peaceful solution to the protracted deadlock between Israel and the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) over Israeli settlement construction in the land Palestinians claim for their future state.
