At least 27 people were killed and several others injured in a suicide blast in northwestern Pakistan’s Shah Hassan Khel on Friday, local television channel Aaj News said.
The explosion occurred during a volleyball match, the channel said referring to state television. A terrorist entered the playing ground and blew himself up.
The blast also damaged several adjacent buildings, Aaj News said. A rescue operation is underway.
The number of casualties has yet to be confirmed, as Information Minister Mian Iftikhar said just 15 causalities and 26 injured had been reported.
