About 9,000 air passengers were stranded on Monday in the city of Chengdu, the capital of China's southwestern Sichuan Province, as heavy fog halted flights, the Sina news service has said.
Dozens of flights were cancelled as visibility over the city fell below 350 meters, the news service said.
On Sunday, a total of 756 flights were cancelled at Beijing Shoudu Airport due to snowfalls, the heaviest in the past 60 years.
