Over 2,000 leading global carmakers will present their new products at the international car show Auto Expo 2010 that opens in New Delhi on Tuesday, the head of India's carmaker association said.
"The number of visitors in comparison with the 2008 show will grow by 40% - we are expecting two million guests," Pawan Goenka, the president of the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), said.
The show will last until January 11.
Participants from 29 countries, including the United States, Japan, Germany and Russia, are expected to present cars, trucks, motorcycles, buses, as well automobile parts and accessories at an area of 140,000 square meters (1.5 million square feet).
Goenka said carmakers highly assess India's market potential.
