Tehran has formally notified Baku that it has unilaterally lifted visa requirements for Azerbaijani nationals, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said on Friday.
Visa-free travel for Azerbaijani nationals will start from February 1, ministry spokesman Elkhan Polukov said.
The Iranian Cabinet of Ministers made the decision to unilaterally end visa requirements for Azerbaijani nationals in mid-November 2009.
The Iranian government instructed the foreign ministry to carry out the decision without delay.
