Russian oil output up 1.2% to 3.63 bln bbl in 2009

Russian oil output rose 1.2% to 494 million metric tons (3.63 bln bbl), and natural gas production declined 12.1% to 584 billion cubic meters in 2009 year-on-year, the country's statistics service said on Friday.

Russian oil output rose 1.2% to 494 million metric tons (3.63 bln bbl), and natural gas production declined 12.1% to 584 billion cubic meters in 2009 year-on-year, the country's statistics service said on Friday.

Oil refining decreased by 0.4% to 236 million metric tons (1.73 bln bbl) last year against 2008.

The Russian Energy Ministry said oil exports went up 3.3% year-on-year to 246.044 million tons (1.81 bln bbl) in 2009.

The ministry said gas exports went down 10.3% year-on-year to 167.135 bcm last year.

The ministry earlier predicted that crude output would be maintained at 493 million metric tons (3.62 bln bbl) in 2009-2012, with exports stable at 247 million metric tons (1.82 bln bbl) in both 2010 and 2011, and down to 244 million metric tons (1.79 bln bbl) in 2012.

On gas output, the ministry forecast it would go up to 643 bcm in 2010, 655 bcm in 2011 and 669 bcm in 2012.
