Igor Shuvalov, Russia's first deputy prime minister, will be in charge of improving the country's investment image, a presidential aide said Tuesday.

"Shuvalov will be in charge of this work," Arkady Dvorkovich told journalists.

He also said efforts to analyze whether some state corporations should be turned into joint stock companies would end in February.

Dvorkovich earlier specified that national development bank VEB, Rostekhnologii corporation and Rosnano were the most likely candidates for transformation.

He also said while no special investment agency would be established, Shuvalov would have the power to cancel decisions hindering the implementation of investment projects.

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev urged the government earlier on Tuesday to work out measures to attract investment into Russia.
