President Dmitry Medvedev visited the Best Photograph of Russia – 2009 exhibition at the Vinzavod modern art center in Moscow.

The Russian head of state was accompanied by Vinzavod director Sofia Trotsenko.

The Best Photograph of Russia is an all-Russian annual project sponsored by the Ministry of Culture. Vinzavod is holding the show for the second time.

The show also includes portraits of actors and actresses, for example, Oleg Yankovsky and Chulpan Khamatova.

The camera also caught Sergei Mazayev, a member of the Moral Codex pop group.

The president was also drawn to genre pictures.

Before touring the show, the president met with students from an Ivanovo Region boarding school, who had already seen the exhibition. The president asked them what they liked best. The children said pictures of nature and animals, while some were impressed with the portraits.

The president took a joint photo with the children and autographed an album that included photographs of the winners of the current competition.
