Magician ends up in hospital after 64.5 hours inside ice cube
14:33 GMT 15.02.2010 (Updated: 19:51 GMT 19.10.2022) Latvian magician Gennady Palchevsky’s attempt to break the world record for time spent inside an ice had a sad outcome. After 64 hours 32 minutes in ice, he was taken to a hospital with frostbitten feet.
The illusionist has spent almost three days in a two by two meter ice container and beaten the previous record by half an hour.Israeli magician Hezi Dayan spent 64 hours in ice in January, 2010. His experiment had a sad outcome as well: He had to resort to medical assistance as well. The conditions were tough: Gennady Palchevsky was not allowed to leave the cube, or to eat or even to sit down. He started preparing for the experiment in August 2009. He followed a special fasting program and tested his body’s strength by steadily increasing the time he spent in ice.
