A German machine of a rather impressive size can break down nearly 1,000 cars a day. There are five units like this in Russia.
A new program will allow any Russian citizen who sells a car over 10 years old for scrap to receive a 50,000 ruble discount to buy a new car if it is assembled in Russia. Russia’s version of “Cash for Clunkers,” which is designed to stimulate new car sales, will run from March 8 through October 31, 2010.
