Ukraine's Vitali Klitschko, WBC heavyweight champion, plans to retire in 2010, the Unian news agency reported on Wednesday.
In 2009 Klitschko defended his WBC Heavyweight title three times. His next opponent could be former WBA champion Nikolai Valuev.
"I only have to win one belt. So this year I will hang up my boxing gloves. And I'll stop visiting different cities to beat somebody's face in," he said.
'Dr. Ironfist' Klitschko, 38 (39-2, 37 KOs) is a deputy of the Kiev City Council. Polls suggest he has a good chance of becoming mayor of the Ukrainian capital if elections are called this year.
