Norwegian Marit Bjoergen has won the Olympic gold medal in the women's cross-country individual sprint race at the Vancouver Winter Games.
The 29-year-old skier finished the distance at the Whistler Olympic Park in 3 minutes 39.2 seconds. Justyna Kowalczyk from Poland came second, just 1.1 seconds behind the winner.
Slovenian Petra Majdic secured the bronze, with the result of 3 minutes 41 seconds.
