The pilot of a plane that crashed into an office building on Thursday in the U.S. state of Texas apparently left a message on his website, U.S. media reported.
A small plane crashed into an office building in Austin, Texas on Thursday, injuring two people. One person was reportedly missing.
CNN said the pilot of the Piper Cherokee PA-28 was identified as Joseph Andrew Stack, 53.
The building was part of a complex in the Texan capital that includes offices for the CIA, FBI and Internal Revenue Service, which was apparently Stack's target.
The lengthy message on a website registered to Stack began: "If you're reading this, you're no doubt asking yourself, 'Why did this have to happen? The simple truth is that it is complicated and has been coming for a long time."
In the message, which has been removed from the site but copies of which are widely available, Stack expressed his strong disagreement with the policies of the U.S. Internal Revenue Service, as well as accused the Catholic Church of corruption.
"I saw it written once that the definition of insanity is repeating the same process over and over and expecting the outcome to suddenly be different. I am finally ready to stop this insanity. Well, Mr. Big Brother IRS man, let's try something different; take my pound of flesh and sleep well," the message said.
White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said the incident "does not appear" to be a terrorist attack but that President Barack Obama had been briefed on it.
CNN reported earlier that the plane had been stolen earlier in the day and the pilot intentionally crashed into the building.
