Canadian skaters win Olympic gold in men's team pursuit

Canadians won their 11th gold medal on the 16th day of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver in speed skating after winning men's team pursuit.

Mathieu Giroux, Lucas Makowsky and Denny Morrison finished the distance at the Richmond Olympic Oval in 3 minutes 41.37 seconds leaving behind just 0.21 seconds the team from the United States with the silver.

The Dutch team, led by Sven Kramer, won the race for the bronze against the team from Norway, setting the new Olympic Record of 3 minutes 39.95 seconds.

Canada wins in men's Snowboard PGS, takes 12th Olympic gold

Canadian snowboarder Jasey Jay Anderson brought his Olympics-hosting country 12th gold medal after winning in men's parallel giant slalom.

The silver went to Austria's Benjamin Karl, while the bronze was packed by French snowboarder Mathieu Bozzetto, who defeated Russia's Stanislav Detkov.

Earlier in the day, Switzerland packed home the bronze after defeating Sweden 5-4.

Finns win bronze in men's ice hockey after beating Slovakia 5-3

Finland beat Slovakia 5-3 to win the bronze medal in men's ice hockey on Saturday.

The Finns scored first in the match but were trailing 3-1 by the end of the second period. They bounced back, however, in the third period, scoring three goals in three and a half minutes.

Canada will face off the United States in the ice hockey final at the Vancouver Games on Sunday.

Day 16 brings no medals for Russia

With no medals won on the 16th day of the Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Russia remained beyond the top ten countries in overall medal count.
