Russia's skier Kirill Mikhaylov won gold at the 2010 Paralympics in Canada after winning in Cross-Country Skiing, Men's 20 km Free, Standing.

Russia's skier Kirill Mikhaylov won gold at the 2010 Paralympics in Canada after winning in Cross-Country Skiing, Men's 20 km Free, Standing.

His compatriot, Vladimir Kononov, won the bronze in the event, while Norway's Nils-Erik Ulset took the silver, finishing a minute and a half behind Mikhaylov.

Another Russian Paralympics athlete Nikolay Polukhin brought Russia a silver medal in Cross-Country Skiing, Men's 20 km Free, Visually Impaired.

Canada's Brian McKeever brought his country the first Paralympics gold in this event and the bronze medal went to Vasili Shaptsiaboi of Belarus.

Russia is currently leading in the overall medal standings of the 2010 Paralympics, boasting five gold, five silver and three bronze medals.
