An 80-year-old man on a flight from the Philippine capital of Manila to the island of Cebu attempted to break a porthole window during the flight with his cane and leave the aircraft, Suddeutsche Zeitung has reported.
Passengers said the man, a U.S. citizen traveling with his family, suddenly jumped from his seat in hysterics and began banging his metal-tipped cane against one of the windows demanding to leave the airplane. The window cracked, witnesses on board the Philippine Airlines flight said.
The man was finally calmed by crewmembers and his family.
According to his wife, her husband suffers from fear of being followed. During the flight, he thought there was a "murderer" nearby and he was just trying to save himself.
