A unique banner that amateur archeologists found near Smolensk will be restored at the Suzdal art restoration school. It lay under ground for almost 70 years and will get a second life by Victory Day on May 9. Amateur archeologists found it in a dugout near Smolensk, where heavy battles were fought in the summer of 1941.
The banner was wrapped up in oiled paper, which actually saved it. The school plans to finish restoring it in a month.
