President Viktor Yanukovych has directed the National Anti-Corruption Committee to draft anti-corruption legislation by April 22, the presidential press service reported on Saturday.
New legislation should help combat corrupt practices more effectively, said Olena Lukash, the first deputy chief of staff and Yanukovych's representative to the Constitutional Court, as quoted by the Kyiv Post daily.
She added that when the draft is ready, it is to be submitted to parliament.
The National Anti-Corruption Committee was set up on February 26 and is headed by Yanukovych.
