At least 74 people have died during nation-wide protests in the ex-Soviet Central Asian republic of Kyrgyzstan, provisional Health Minister Damira Niyazaliyeva said.
She added that the number of injured has also climbed after two days of unrest and is being clarified. Earlier reports from the nation's health authorities put the number of injured at some 500.
Protests, which started in the northwestern Kyrgyz town of Talas on Tuesday, spread to other regions of the country, including the capital Bishkek.
