Novosibirsk hosted a multi-event competition for canine handlers organized by the Siberian Customs Office.

14 teams, made up of 47 handlers and 28 dogs, competed for the title of best canine handler working at the Siberian Customs Office.

The handlers and their canine partners searched for drugs in trucks, cars, luggage and buildings.

The judges evaluated the teams based on several criteria, including the dog’s alertness, dexterity, independence, thoroughness, endurance and accuracy.

Another quality the judges proceed from is “harmony between handler and dog”.

To win, a dog must follow the expert’s commands immediately.
