Russia and seven other countries signed on Monday a declaration to create an international research consortium for information security.
The signing ceremony took place during a forum dedicated to global information security in the city of Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Germany's Bavaria.
The discussion, which involved international scientists, diplomats, businesspeople and police officials, as well as representatives of the UN, NATO and OSCE, focused on Internet crime, as well as on cooperation between government and business in the information security sphere.
Germany, Belarus, Bulgaria, Israel, India, China, and the U.S. are the countries that supported Russia's initiative to create the consortium.
Organizations involved in the information security activities are welcome to join the consortium.
