Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said his decision to initiate full-scale relations with the new Kyrgyz leadership would take into account its social and economic capabilities, as well as its popular support.
Deposed Kyrgyz President Kurmanbek Bakiyev has written a formal letter of resignation, a source in the interim government said.
The president said in a statement his decision on whether to resume full-scale relations with the new Kyrgyz government will be made independently "taking into account the popular will of the Kyrgyz people and the ability of current leaders to maintain order and deal with social and economic tasks."
