First shipment of Mi-35M Hind helicopters delivered to Brazil

The first shipment containing three transport-combat Mi-35M Hind helicopters were delivered to the Brazilian Air Force base in Porto Velho.

The delegation headed Russian security chief Nikolai Patrushev (left) took part in the ceremony of transferring the Mi-35M transport-combat helicopters to Brazil.

The contract to supply transport-combat Mi-35M helicopters to Brazil was signed by Rosoboronexport in 2008.

Brazilian pilots who had passed a full flight course in Russia demonstrated their skills during flights of Mi-35s during the ceremony.

The combat Mi35-M helicopters provided by Rosoboronexport fully comply with the current plans to update the fleet of the Brazilian Air Force. The Mi35-M as a unique helicopter which could solve not only fighting, but transportation, assault and medical tasks.

The next shipment of three Mi-35Ms will be transported to Brazil by Rosoboronexport in the second half of 2010.
