At least 12 people died and 26 were injured in a car crash involving 10 vehicles in northern Egypt on Saturday, the MENA news agency said.
The accident happened in the el-Beheirah region on a high-speed road leading to the city of Alexandria.
A truck turned over after the driver lost control of his vehicle, and nine cars ploughed into one another as the truck blocked the road.
All the dead were local residents.
