Old-timers opened the 2010 rally season on April 24. The drivers were unaware of the route beforehand.

The goal of the race was to arrive at the final destination at the exact given time without passing other racers. Penalty points were given both for premature and late arrivals.

The route included only the start at St. Basil's and the finish on Tverskaya Boulevard.

The old-timer teams had to follow a strict track from the start to the finish point, registering at several check-points along the way.

The route did not even define the exact locations of the check-points. Just the general direction and the distance from one point to another were given.

The average speed for the old-timers was set at 20-25 km/hour. The racers had to pass all the check-points within three hours.

The old-timers were allowed to participate in Opening Season 2010 race in three age categories. The requirements demanded the cars to be produced by the end of 1979, 1970 or 1945 and have their original assemblage, including engines.

Experienced racers and retro-fans participated in the race.

They demonstrated rare old-timers, such as the Cord 810 with an aircraft motor and the famous Packard and Cadillac models loved by Hollywood cinema stars.
