World famous Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer has been hospitalized in Rio de Janeiro, his doctor told reporters on Monday.
Oscar Ribeiro de Almeida Niemeyer Soares Filho, aged 102, was hospitalized in 2009 for 24 days where he underwent two abdominal surgeries.
His architectural works include public buildings designed for the city of Brasilia, and the United Nations Headquarters in New York City.
The doctor did not reveal the reasons for Niemeyer's hospitalization.
